Acrylic Face Mount Print
A photographic print mounted to an aluminium composite panel, with a 2 mm sheet of high-gloss acrylic bonded over the face. There is no air layer between the print, the acrylic and the panel — dust and moisture cannot get in between. The picture runs edge to edge with no frame, so the work reaches the viewer with nothing else around it. It is a mounting method many photographic artists choose for exhibition.

All you see is your photo
No frame and no mount board. The print is mounted across its full width to an aluminium composite panel, with a 2 mm sheet of high-gloss acrylic bonded over the face. All you see is your picture — the image runs edge to edge, with no frame or mount board cutting across it.
Materials & construction
- Printed by giclée — the colour on the wall is the colour in your file.
- The print, the acrylic and the composite panel are bonded across the full image with no air layer in between — the surface stays flat and cannot blister or wrinkle, and dust and moisture cannot work their way in between the layers.
- An aluminium sub-frame sits behind the panel — it makes hanging easy and carries the weight.
- The face is 2 mm high-gloss acrylic — it will show reflections.
- No frame and no mount board — nothing but the picture itself.
- Hanging hardware ships with the piece, matched by weight to the size you ordered.
| In the box: the finished panel — the print, the 2 mm high-gloss acrylic and the. composite board are already bonded into one piece, with the sub-frame on the back. Hangers included; screws and wall plugs are not, so please have those ready for your wall. |
One paper only
Premium Glossy Photo Paper 250 (made in Japan, supplied on a roll) — the only option here. Colour saturation is high, and edges and fine detail stay crisp. The maker describes its feel as close to traditional silver-halide photographic paper.
The maker lists this paper for mounted work of this kind, so the paper and the process are a matched pair rather than a general-purpose choice.
Recommended for
Colour work, landscape and night scenes — pictures with a wide spread between light and dark. And for anyone who wants the print frameless on the wall — no frame, no mount board — but with something over the surface that can be wiped clean.
Good to know
- It is one piece. The print, the acrylic and the panel are bonded together; it cannot be taken apart and the image cannot be changed later.
- The acrylic is high-gloss, not anti-reflective: facing a light source, or seen from the side, it will show the lamps and the window.
- The face is 2 mm. The edge is thin, so you will not get the deep side profile a thick acrylic face gives.
- It is acrylic, not glass. Lighter and much harder to break, but it scratches easily — keep abrasive cloths and hard objects away from it.
- Cleaning: a dry microfibre cloth; if you need more, spritz a little ammonia-free glass cleaner onto the cloth and buff dry straight away. Water left to dry on the surface leaves spots.
- This face does not filter UV, and direct sun will still fade the colours over time — keep it off a wall that takes sun for hours.
- Large panels are heavy. Check the fixing and the wall before you hang it.
- Hangers are included, but screws and wall plugs are not — please have those ready for your wall.
